When Dublin City Council, New York officials, and the Portals Organization collaborated to establish a communication portal linking two continents, they likely didn’t anticipate it being misused for vulgar displays.
Yet, here we are, unsurprisingly.
Since its launch on May 8, there have been numerous inappropriate exchanges between Dublin and New York, including crude gestures, mooning, and now, exposure of t*ts.
The live-streaming portal was intended to foster wholesome interactions, but it has unfortunately become a stage for regrettable behavior.
There have been instances of Dublin locals displaying images of the 9/11 terrorist attacks to New Yorkers, who have responded with pictures of potatoes and clips of pornography—a rather childish exchange.
However, things escalated when an OnlyFans model saw an opportunity to take things further by exposing herself to Dublin.
Ava Louise, with over 400,000 Instagram followers, flashed her breasts on May 12, an act she claims led portal organizers to shut down the operation and enhance security measures.
In a video explaining her actions, she said, “I thought the people of Dublin deserved to see two New York, homegrown potatoes.”
However, her display led to the Portal being ‘down for quite some time’ as authorities moved to clamp down on inappropriate behavior, based on a video she shared showing her boyfriend talking with security personnel.
“It’s very unfortunate that people are not acting in the best way,” a staff member was recorded saying.
Online reactions to her actions were also largely negative.
One commenter said, “Yeah, this one is ehhh… you’re probably gonna get charged with some sort of indecent exposure or something lol… especially since there were probably children around…”
Another criticized, “You’re gross like are you proud of yourself? Ruined something beautiful, ART, a chance for others. You legit ruin everything like why.”
In response, organizers are now implementing technical safeguards to prevent further incidents, especially after an incident involving a man from Dublin exposing himself through the Portal.
In a statement released on May 13, a Dublin City Council spokesperson told Sky News, “We will continue to monitor the situation over the coming days with our partners in New York to ensure that Portals continue to deliver a positive experience for both cities and the world.”
“The team at portals.org and partners are still working on improving the software for better stability and to prepare for Portals to expand to more locations on Earth.”
“Those works are being done mostly at night and during those hours, the livestream might be paused.”
The Portals Organization also commented to LADbible: “As Portals Organization, we do not intend to suggest people to interact with Portals in any particular way - our goal is to open a window between faraway places and cultures that allows people to interact freely with one another.”
“We encourage people to be respectful and from our position as observers, we see that the absolute majority of experiences is on the bright side.”
