Akiane Kramarik Painted “Prince Of Peace,” At Eight-Years-Old

A young girl from Idaho was raised in a family that didn’t practice any religion. Her parents rarely mentioned God or Jesus Christ. So, it came as a surprise when she painted a picture of a man she insisted was Jesus. Despite her upbringing, she was firm in her belief that she had recurring dreams where she saw visions and heard God’s voice.

“For many years a blurry image of the Prince of Peace appeared to me in my dreams and visions,” Akiane said.

“Only after a mysterious carpenter came knocking on our door one afternoon that I knew it was the right time to paint the story of hope.”

Oprah Winfrey invited the young artist Arkiane to her show, where her mother affirmed that they did not raise her with any specific religious beliefs. They homeschooled her and kept her exposure to the outside world limited.

“We were with the kids all the time, and so these words from Akiane about God didn’t come from the outside–we knew that,” Akiane’s mother shared.

“But there suddenly were intense conversations about God’s love, His place [in our lives], and she would describe everything in detail.”

Akiane Kramarik Searched For The Right Model

Initially, she tried to describe Jesus’s appearance through writing, but it turned out to be too challenging. She realized that painting would be the best way to capture his image. However, she needed a model to serve as a reference. So, one day, she asked her parents, despite their non-religious background, to pray throughout the day for a suitable look-alike to help her with her artwork.

“I always think about Jesus and talk about Him,” Akiane explained*.*

“I was looking for a [Jesus] model for a long, long time, and when I couldn’t find anyone, one day I suggested to my family to pray all day for this model so God would send the right one.”

Then, as if by a miracle, a carpenter arrived at their doorstep. Akiane was captivated by his striking resemblance to the man she had seen in her dreams, and she knew he was the perfect model she had been searching for. “I told my mother that that was him,” she said. “I want him to be my model.”

However, when many people saw her painting, they were shocked. They considered her unwavering belief that her artwork depicted the true likeness of Jesus Christ to be blasphemous. Some even went so far as to suggest burning the artwork.

Mistaken And Deceived

Her parents desired global recognition for their talented young daughter’s artwork. They decided to send it to an art exhibition, but unfortunately, it was stolen during the process. After a difficult ordeal, they were able to recover the painting. However, the shipment process resulted in significant damage to Akiane Kramarik’s masterpiece, “Prince of Peace.”

Their struggle was far from over. Akiane Kramarik’s parents remained determined to have the world appreciate her painting of the “Prince of Peace.” They tried to showcase it in another exhibition, but due to a clerical error, it was mistakenly sold instead. This led them to engage in yet another legal battle to reclaim the painting.

Meanwhile, the artwork remained stored in a dim stairwell. Throughout it all, Akiane never lost hope that she would one day be reunited with her cherished painting.

“Prince of Peace” Finally Returned

In the meantime, Akiane continued to create other artworks and embarked on a journey to 30 different countries, spreading a message of peace. She also shared her artistic skills by teaching art classes, all of which gained international recognition. Through her talents, she was able to lift her family out of poverty. Thankfully, she was able to create prints of her original painting, “Prince of Peace.”

After nearly twenty years of being separated from her cherished painting, it was finally reunited with Akiane. According to reports, her family sold it to a prestigious family who considered themselves as guardians of the artwork. Allegedly, they purchased it for $850,000.

“It was amazing to me. To be able to see this into the light again, after so many years,” Akiane said.
