“The family asks for their privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace.”
In 2015, Shannen received her initial diagnosis of breast cancer. For a brief period, the actress, who featured in Charmed and 90210, was in remission.
“I definitely have days where I say, ‘Why me?’
“And then I go, well, ‘Why not me? Who else? Who else besides me deserves this?’ None of us do.”
Shannen’s portrayal of Brenda Walsh in the first Beverly Hills, 90210 served as the impetus for her acting career. From the American show’s 1990 inception to its fourth season finale in 1994, she starred in it.
However, Shannen made a few unexpected appearances when the show was rebooted in 2008. After her initial appearance in the American drama, the actress was able to carry on with her lengthy career.

Shannen focused on reality TV after gaining experience in acting. She was successful in landing her own reality show, Shannen Doherty’s Breaking Up. and even had the opportunity to compete as a star on the US prime-time program Dancing with the Stars.
Shannen signed up for a second revival of Beverly Hills back in 2019; this time, she would play the same role that launched her long-running acting career.
She chose to keep the rest of the cast in the dark about her cancer diagnosis even though she was aware of it at the time.
That was before co-star and legendary actor Luke Perry unexpectedly passed away in March 2019 at the age of 52.
Shannen felt obligated to talk about her personal health following Luke’s death.
“It’s so weird for me to be diagnosed and then somebody who was, you know, seemingly healthy to go first,” she remarked on Good Morning America.
“It was really, like, shocking.”
Shannen has been conversing with other celebrities on her podcast, Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty, in more recent times. She would converse with visitors about everything Hollywood, including its highs and lows.
On June 25, Shannen announced on Instagram that she was receiving chemotherapy and that she was unsure of how long the treatment would last.
Since Shannen’s death was announced today, her devastated followers have taken to the comments section to offer their condolences.
