Sometimes performers portray so many diverse parts in films that they nearly become household names. They may not be as well-known as some of the major stars, but they are recognizable by their faces.

Dabney Coleman is a well-known actor who has been in films including Tootsie, Boardwalk Empire, and 9 to 5. Unfortunately, Coleman passed away at the age of 92.

Legend Of The Silver Screen Has Passed At 92

Coleman was believed to have died quietly at his home in Santa Monica. His daughter, Quincy Coleman, described her father as a generous, curious man with a passionate and amusing attitude.

She went on to clarify: “As he lived, he moved through this final act of his life with elegance, excellence, and mastery.” And she addressed her father as a teacher, hero, and King.

Coleman spent more than 60 years in the entertainment industry. During that period, he appeared on television and in over sixty films. Despite the fact that he was a nice person off camera, his performances were sometimes callous and devoid of empathy for others.

Perhaps one of his best-known parts was in the film 9 to 5. Franklin Hart Jr.’s performance in the position demonstrated his ability well.

Coleman discussed working with the film’s female stars, Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Dolly Parton, during a 2010 interview. He stated: “The girls were so supportive of me, and included me in everything. They were on a whole different level than I was at the time, but they were very sensitive about that and made sure that I was included in every publicity shot and tour. All three of them insisted, ‘Where’s Dabney? Get him in here!’”

He won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor and was nominated for six more. His performance in The Slap Maxwell Story earned him a Golden Globe in 1988 for outstanding actor in a TV series, music or comedy.

He has appeared in movies such as Wargames, Tootsie, Inspector Gadget, and The Beverly Hillbillies.

Many stars stepped forward to pay respect to Coleman and what he left behind. We shall definitely miss his talent to amuse. May he rest peacefully.
