Kate Middleton has made her first public appearance in nearly six months, joining Prince William and King Charles for this year’s Trooping the Colour celebrations.

The Princess of Wales was seen traveling to the event on Saturday, June 15, in a maroon car with family members, including William and Prince George. She wore a white dress with a black bow, a white hat, and had her hair styled in a neat bun.

Later, she was spotted in a carriage with her children before they all took to Buckingham Palace’s balcony to enjoy the spectacle. Kate announced on Friday evening, June 14, that she would attend the event, sharing that she’s making “good progress” in her recovery from cancer, but is “not out of the woods yet.”

She released a personal message to the nation for the first time since revealing her cancer ordeal, admitting she has “good days and bad days.”

The 42-year-old said she is still undergoing preventative chemotherapy, which will continue for months. However, a Palace source mentioned she is “doing well” and had been “very much looking forward to being with her family” during the King’s birthday parade.

Speculation about Kate’s presence at Trooping the Colour arose after she did not attend the Colonel’s Review on June 8, the traditional rehearsal for the Sovereign’s official birthday parade this weekend.

The palace released a new picture of Kate, looking radiant beneath a tree in the grounds of Windsor, taken earlier this week.

She said in a personal message: “I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months.”

“It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times.”

“I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days.”

“On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting.”

“But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well. My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months.”
