Fans of “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!” might be let down to discover that the Australian wilderness isn’t really a jungle. In fact, it has a hidden roof to keep things dry.

The folks on “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!” are going through a tough time in the jungle, dealing with critters and scarce food. But here’s the shocker for fans: the camp actually has a sneaky roof.

To shield the recording gear and provide grub for the campmates when they score a reward from the Bushtucker Trial, they rigged up a manmade roof in the so-called ‘jungle.’ Turns out, this jungle might not be much of a jungle after all.

Springbrook National Park, the backdrop for the show, is labeled by the Tweed Shire Council as “lowland subtropical rainforest” instead of a jungle. Interestingly, there’s a roof that shields a section of the camp during heavy rainfall.

Even though this roof doesn’t directly shield the beds of the campmates, it does provide a dry spot in front of the cameras where they can hang out. There’s also a foldable canvas canopy over the fire, keeping the celebrities warm and allowing them to poke the food bag through.

But a source revealed: “A lot of the camp is not under shelter — it’s not like the roof at Wimbledon!”

In the past, fans have expressed confusion about how the fire remains lit, with one viewer taking to Twitter to ask: “Funny that when it’s pouring down with rain the fire’s still going and their hair’s never wet #ImACeleb.”

Another viewer said: “The fact all the celebrities are completely dry when it’s supposedly ’torrential rain’ just shows how much of a set up it all is.”

Also, many of the rocks near the camp are made of fiberglass. The waterfall shower supposedly has an ‘off switch,’ and the water is said to be turned off from 3 pm to 6 pm to save water.

This happened after fans got upset about some “fake rain” during Babatunde Aléshé’s trial last year—right before Matt Hancock joined the jungle. Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly were under umbrellas while Babatunde was up high on the equipment. However, as soon as he came back down, the rain mysteriously stopped.

One viewer shared at the time: “It’s amazing how dry all the other ‘celebrities’ were when he got back to camp after the heavy rain.”

Another penned: “Was that a rain machine? Suddenly [went] off.”

“I bet it didn’t rain, it’s sprinklers, you heard it here first,” a viewer joked.
