A month after Haliey Welch’s video went viral, she is seeing significant financial success. Welch, who became famous for her catchphrase “Hawk Tuah—spit on that thang” in a video released by Tim & Dee TV on TikTok and YouTube, is now earning thousands from public engagements.
Despite Tim & Dee’s concerns about not getting enough credit, Welch has successfully trademarked the phrase for use in comedy and apparel.
Recently, Welch made $30,000 for just one appearance at Daer Dayclub at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
This event, which celebrated her reaching one million Instagram followers—a number she has since exceeded to 1.1 million followers—also featured her as a judge in a bikini contest. At the event, Welch was visibly moved, shedding tears due to the overwhelming attention and success.
Welch’s influence continues to grow beyond just appearances. She has teamed up with Fathead Threads, a family-owned business, to market hats bearing the slogan “Hawk Tuan ‘24.” This venture has quickly turned profitable, with over 2,000 hats sold in just a few days, bringing in about $65,000.
Welch also took to social media to clear up some misconceptions, stating she was never a school teacher but had worked at a spring plant for ten months before deciding to travel. She emphasized that she was not fired but chose to leave her job.
With her current momentum, Welch is set to continue making lucrative appearances worldwide, using her viral fame to support her travels and business endeavors.
