This guy turns 2 tomorrow. Please don’t give him any compliments; it only makes him more annoying. The answer to the question “Who’s a good boy?!” Is very rarely Crypto. He has big ears that are only used for decoration; he will destroy an Amazon package without a second thought, and when people first meet him, they think that they are going to be eaten.
He loves his toys, playing with plastic lids and funnels, eating eggs on the couch, and stealing the doormats when he thinks nobody is looking. He loves going for walkies, playing fetch, and giving Mom and dad kisses. He hates the wind, getting his feet wet, and going for drives. He has scratched the car around 800 times, has given me so many bruises that it looks like I’m a Law and Order SVU victim, and will steal your bubble bath any chance he gets.
He’s loud, unruly, and obnoxious, but he’s ours, and we love him all the more for it. He has been here for us during some of our worst days, and I don’t think I would have survived this deployment without him. He’s a hell-raising lunatic, but he’s always been here when we need him most. I can’t remember what life was like before him, but I know it’s so much better with him in it. Happy birthday, Donkey. You are so loved!
