Fans of Coronation Street have pointed out a clear mistake in Lauren Bolton’s spectacular return.
Fans may recall that following her dismissal at Roy’s Rolls, Lauren (played by Cait Fitton) disappeared from the famous cobblestones. When her loved ones couldn’t find her, the blonde beauty caused fear.
When police arrived at her apartment to look into it, they found evidence of a struggle and a blood-stained weapon on the floor. Viewers were positive up to this point that the teen’s death was caused by this murder weapon.
Roy Cropper, a former employee of hers played by David Nielson, was detained pending his court appearance after being named their top suspect and charged with her murder. Before killing her in a fit of rage, DC Swain (Vicky Myers) came to believe that the well-known character had paid her for sex.
Luckily for Roy, unscrupulous police officer Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) set up sex trafficker Nathan Curtis (Chris Harper) to be the one charged with her death, according to the Express.
Viewers were only made aware of the teen’s disappearance’s cause—dubious lawyer Joel Deering (Calum Lill)—just one month prior.
Additionally, it was disclosed that Lauren has been hiding and is in fact alive in Monday’s episode (July 7). The little child showed up to Roy’s hospital bedside after he suffered a heart attack earlier in the day.
Fans, however, are furious that Lauren is back. Many people are perplexed as to why Lauren did not return after Roy was detained and put in jail.
One commenter scolded on X, the platform that was once known as Twitter:“So Lauren’s been in hiding for months, only coming out because Roy is in hospital? Why the f**k did she not come out when he was in prison? "
Another added their two cents: “Roy is so important to her, but not important enough to get him out of Prison.” A third vented: “I groaned when Lauren showed up at the hospital! Why now? It’s a stupid storyline that’s dragged on for ages.”
And yet another joined the fray, exclaiming: “Omg please end this storyline, it makes no sense. So Lauren turns up alive which we all knew wasn’t dead, but why didn’t she show up to clear Roy when he was in prison? “.
