Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector – Necrons DLC Update Is Coming In Q1 2022!

The Necrons will be available as DLC for Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector

The critically acclaimed turn-based strategy game from Black Lab Games first launched on PC earlier this year before making its way to consoles. The arrival of the Necrons is scheduled for the first quarter of 2022.

Despite the obvious limits of the Battlesector campaign, I had a great time with it. I recommend it. My thoughts on the game are detailed in an August entry under What we’ve been playing.

The Necrons are a much-needed addition to the Battlesector universe, which is in desperate need of additional factions (at the moment, you can only play as the Blood Angels and Tyranids). I’m glad that the Necrons are on their way.

The Necrons, for those who are unfamiliar with the Warhammer 40,000 universe, are an ancient species comprised of horrific robot skeleton aliens that inhabit the Warhammer 40,000 realm.

Not to dive too far into the history of the Necrons, but they predate humanity by thousands of years and were originally the slaves of the ancient C’tan – Warhammer 40,000’s mysterious star gods – before they became exterminated.

The Necrons’ “awakening” after 60 million years of slumber is a relatively recent occurrence in the 40K universe – and they appear to be quite enraged at everyone involved. Perhaps you woke up on the wrong side of the bed?

The Necron Faction Pack is a paid DLC for Battlesector that features a completely new roster of unique troops and heroes to choose from

As well as skirmish and multiplayer combat, you can participate in a brand new and completely free campaign type called “conquest-style” campaign, in which the three factions struggle to erase the other two factions from the game map.

You will be able to acquire territory, develop an army, and fight for control of important resources that can shift the tide of the conflict in your favor.

Each game session takes place on a map that is built by a procedural generation algorithm. Whether or not you own the Necron Faction Pack, you can still engage in combat with the Necrons.
