When we talk about foldable smartphones Samsung pops up in our head, Samsung is winning the race when it comes to foldable smartphones and there is no question about it, with its Galaxy Fold globally available from last year. Moving forward Samsung is now releasing a new patent, its foldable display smartphones with pop-up speakers.
Who took notice of the patent that emerged in the virtual world?
The team at LetsGoDigital noticed that Samsung has filed the patent with the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization). The document that has a 35-pages document, that was registered in February earlier this year has been issued on October 15, 2020. The graphics display a boxy design with round ends like that of the newly released iPhone 12 Series. The report states that of the front and backset ups, few features like Speaker, microphone. And the front camera is placed to the back end of the front set up.
Let’s take a look at the Fold Display of the device
Turns out the front and the back camera moves with the adaptable screen, so the top part moves up and fold towards the interior that could only be possible with a mechanism in the smartphone. This creates a virtual resonance unit for the speaker inside. It is designed by Giuseppe Spinelli displays a better concept of the device’s looks. Moreover, the report states that the document indicates a plastic polymer body. This hints at the Colorless Polymide Film (CPI) found on OG Galaxy Fold. However, we can’t dismiss the expectation of UTG.
What else we know about the hyped foldable display?
Moreover, the graphics display the speaker chambers are placed on the sides.
There are vents on three sides of the top part. This pops-up when the screen flex intentionally created to use the proffered sound effects. Now, this is not the first time we hear about the resonance chamber on Smartphones. Earlier in 2018, LG has launched the same technology in the LG G7 and it consists of a Boombox like sound effect.
Samsung has a completely different concept of a flexible display, pop-up speaker, cooling fans, etc. If the report turns out to be true, the display will support S-Pen. The design of the Samsung foldable smartphone will be a flagship along with features like pop-up speakers, S-Pen support, and more.
