Businesses and retailers throughout the country are announcing plans for the day of the Queen’s funeral. Elizabeth II will be laid to rest on Monday (19 September). Her state funeral will take place at Westminster Abbey in London, earlier than being laid to rest later in Windsor. Schools will be closed at the day of the funeral . Costa Coffee have now confirmed its plans for the bank holiday.

 Is there a bank holiday for the Queen’s funeral?

The day of the Queen’s funeral may be a bank holiday. King Charles III accredited plans during his accession on Saturday 10 September. In a statement, the Government stated: “The date of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s State Funeral, may be a countrywide bank holiday. “This will permit individuals, businesses and other organizations to pay their respects to Her Majesty and commemorate Her reign, at the same time as marking the very last day of the period of countrywide mourning.

“This bank holiday will operate in the equal manner as different bank holidays, and there’s no statutory entitlement to time off. Employers may also include bank holidays as a part of a worker’s leave entitlement. “The bank holiday will take place throughout the United Kingdom.” The government says that it can not interfere in current contractual arrangements between employers and workers.

Will Costa Coffee be open at the Queen’s funeral?

Costa Coffee have announced that every one of the shops the organization “wholly” own will be shut on Monday (19 September). A spokesperson for the organization explained: “As a mark of respect to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, all completely owned Costa Coffee shops will close on Monday 19 September.”

Will Costa Express machines be became on?

Costa Coffee has stated that “some stores” that are not “completely owned” by the organization will still be open on the bank holiday. If a store which operates a Costa Express machine is open at the bank vacation, then the system will still be switched on. The Costa spokesperson explained: “Some shops, operated by our partners, may also stay open. “All Costa Express machines may be switched on in the ones stores that stay open. “All Costa Coffee group members will be paid, no matter whether they have been scheduled to work on Monday or not.”
