Salman Rushdie Attack: Author condition improved and talking ; Attacker Pleads ‘Not Guilty’

Witnesses stated a person ran to the stage as Rushdie was about to deliver a lecture, before attacking him.

“A guy jumped up at the stage from I don’t know in which and commenced what appeared like beating him at the chest, repeated fist strokes into his chest and neck,” stated Bradley Fisher, who was in the audience. “People have been screaming and crying out and gasping.”

A doctor who was in the audience and offered help after the attack told the New York Times that he seemed to have a couple of stab wounds including one to the right side of his neck, however that he had a pulse and did now no longer require cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Images shared through attendees seemed to reveal Rushdie being dealt with on stage. He changed into later airlifted to a nearby hospital for emergency surgery.

Attacker now no longer’ pleaded guilty’ of attempt to murder

Hadi Matar, who’s suspected of stabbing Indian-born-British writer Salman Rushdie in western New York State on Friday morning during a lecture, pleaded not responsible to attempted murder in the second degree and different charges in a New York court. Matar on Saturday  was remanded without bail at Chautauqua County Jail.
