The reason behind the curfew
As stated by the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday, a new coronavirus strain has been found in the UK. And it’s troublesome for us because the new Strain has been detected in eight samples at the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in Delhi as well. We still haven’t won over the coronavirus, fresh COVID-19 cases keep up coming almost daily, even on Wednesday, Delhi recorded a total of 677 fresh coronavirus cases and 21 fatalities. In this scenario, ignoring the new strain of coronavirus would be an act of irresponsibility and this could be minacious for the Indian Citizenry.
According to the Official Sources, among the eight people who were detected with the new COVID-19 strain, seven are in quarantine at the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital (LNJP) in the capital state. The remaining one traveled to Andhra Pradesh by train last week.
Limitations and rules for the curfew
“The curbs will be placed on December 31 and January 1 between 11 pm to 6 am ”, said DDMA in its order. The orders restricted more than five people to assemble at a place and imposed a ban on any sort of event organization post 11 pm on both the nights of curfew. However, the authorities gave full relief to interstate as well as intrastate movements. No ban would be foisted on the movement of persons and goods during the curbs period. The transportation of goods wouldn’t be restricted.
The curfew is urged to avoid large gatherings which would have eventually lead to the spread of COVID-19 UK Mutant. The orders are valid till 6 am on January 2. No restrictions on assemblies after 2nd January.
