Michael B. Jordon, the 33-year-old Hollywood actor, and producer has declared to produce a movie adapted from the DC comic and animated series Static Shock.

Reginald Hudlin first disclosed the movie adaptation of Milestone Media’s Static Shock, the popular DC comic, in the DC fandom event in August 2020. Now, we come to know that Jordon is producing the movie through his production house Outliner Society.

Jordon Feels Our Community Deserves A World Revolving Around Black Superheroes

Jordon stated that his production house, Outline Society is dedicated to picturise different comic characters in every viewable platform to and they are delighted to collaborate with Mr. Reggie and Warner Bros. He further stated that the community deserves a world revolving around Black superheroes and he is very proud to be a part of the project.


Milestone Comics was established to address the misrepresentation of minorities in American comics

Static, the comic superhero, was brought into life by the founders of Milestone Comics, Dwayne McDuffie, Denys Cowan, Michael Davis, and Derek T. Dingle in 1993. Static was a teenager named Virgil Ovid Hawkins who became a superhuman with electromagnetic powers when he got drenched in a laboratory trial radioactive chemical. Milestone Comics was established by a group of Afro-American writers and artists in Hollywood with the aim to address the misrepresentation of minorities in American comics.

Jordon started his career as a child model

Michael B. Jordon was born on 9th February 1987 in Santa Ana, California, U.S.A. He started his career as a child model for many brands and started his professional acting with the 1999 television series Cosby and The Sopranos. In 2018, Jordon portrayed Erik Killmonger in Marvel’s epic Black Panther and earned. In 2019, Jordon produced the legal drama, Just Mercy. The actor and producer played the role of lawyer Bryan Stevenson. Both the portrayals earned him many critical acclaims. This year, in February, Jordon signed a contract in an unnamed drama for an unnamed role with co-actors Christian Bale and Margot Robbie.

Static Shock premiered on WB Television in 2000

Static Shock animated series premiered on the WB Television Network’s Kids’ WB programming section on 23rd September 2000. The half an hour show telecasted 52 episodes for 4 seasons. The comic series was one of the most recognized comics portraying a person of the Black race and culture as a protagonist. The story revolved around the life of the superhero Static Shock, how he became a superhero and what he did after becoming a superhero. Static Shock joined Teen Titans in 2008 when he came back to the mainstream DC universe. If people like the movie produced by Jordon, the film can be seen on multiple platforms and will not be restricted to theatres and television.
