Katy Perry has openly commented on the now-viral photo of her, Kim Kardashian, and Orlando Bloom, offering a straightforward response.
It’s been a busy few days for the singer, who just won the prestigious Vanguard Award at last night’s MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on September 11, and surprised Taylor Swift with her onstage kiss with rapper Doechii.
Her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, was there to support her, and his reaction to her VMA performance also caught the internet’s attention. But that wasn’t the only reason the couple made headlines this week.
This time, the buzz involves Kim Kardashian.
Bloom, Perry, and Kardashian were all guests at the Kering Foundation’s Caring for Women dinner during Ready-to-Wear Fashion Week at The Pool in New York City.
The event, held on Monday (September 9), raised about $2 million to combat gender-based violence.
However, a particular photo from the event caught viral attention. It appeared to show Bloom looking at Kardashian’s behind, while Perry, known for her hit “Teenage Dream,” was facing forward.
The image quickly reached Perry herself.
While appearing on the Elvis Duran Show on Tuesday (September 10), Katy Perry was questioned by host Elvis Duran about the ‘clickbait’ photo of her fiancé apparently staring at Kim Kardashian’s behind. Duran joked, “I mean, how could you not?”
The “American Idol” judge responded bluntly, “I approve.”
She continued, asking, “So wait, what’s the controversy?”
Duran replied, “There is no controversy, that’s my whole point.”
Perry then humorously added, “Oh, great. Count that click honey!”
It appears that Orlando Bloom has not faced any repercussions — and Perry, known for her candor, also recently made a cheeky confession about how she appreciates a clean kitchen and dishes being done.
On the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Katy Perry shared a candid remark about household chores: “If I come downstairs and the kitchen is clean, and you’ve done it all, and you’ve done all the dishes, and you’ve closed all the pantry doors, you better be ready to get your d**k sucked.”
Orlando Bloom, her fiancé, later responded to her comments with a touch of humor, writing: “I’ve cleaned the house.”
Likely with a bit of urgency as well.
Bloom and Perry first met in 2016 and briefly separated a year later. They reignited their romance in 2018, got engaged in 2019, and share a daughter, Daisy Dove, who was born in 2020.
