Jon Bon Jovi has received acclaim after a video surfaced showing him aiding a woman on the edge of a bridge.
The 62-year-old rock star and another woman were captured on video persuading the distressed individual to move to safety from the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge in Nashville, US, on Tuesday (10 September).
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department later released CCTV footage of the incident on their social media platforms.
Sky News reported that the singer was on the bridge filming a music video, which was still open to the public during production.
In the video, Bon Jovi approaches the woman and engages her in conversation.
She then faces the duo, who assist her over the railing to safety.
Afterwards, Bon Jovi is seen embracing the woman before they both walk away from the scene.
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department took to social media to commend the musician for his quick thinking and kindness, posting on X: “A shout out to @jonbonjovi and his team for helping a woman on the Seigenthaler Ped Bridge Tue night.”
“Bon Jovi helped persuade her to come off the ledge over the Cumberland River to safety.”
Chief John Drake added: “It takes all of us to help keep each other safe.”
Fans have also expressed their admiration for Bon Jovi’s actions, with one person commenting, “An awesome dude doing awesome stuff. Good on him, and hopefully the person he talked down is getting the help they need.”
Another fan referenced lyrics from his famous song, ‘Livin’ on a Prayer.’
One supporter stated, “I hope this woman gets the support, love, and understanding she needs to heal. Thank goodness for angels here on earth.”
And another described him as “such a nice guy.”
As of now, Bon Jovi has not made any public comments about the incident on his social media channels.
