The 57-year-old famous chef is known for popular TV programs like Hell’s Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, and Next Level Chef.
He has been married to his wife Tana, who is 49, since 1996, and they have seven children together: Megan, 25, twins Holly and Jack, 24, Matilda, 22, Oscar, 5, Rocky, and baby Jesse James.
In a recent interview, Ramsay talks about being a father and the ‘trauma’ his family went through after losing Rocky.
Throughout the years, the MasterChef star has shared his experiences of being a dad.
His oldest child, Megan, was the first in the family to earn a college degree.
Ramsay celebrated her graduation on social media, writing: “So proud of this young Lady @megan__ramsay our first Ramsay ever to graduate with a degree @oxfordbrookes hard work pays off!”
Holly, one of the twins, has worked to reduce the stigma around mental health. She started a podcast where she talked about topics like anxiety and depression. It was also a safe space for her to discuss her mental health journey.
Ramsay’s daughter revealed to her listeners that she had been diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety, and depression after being sexually assaulted while at university.
She expressed: “It’s confusing and I’m trying to take control of my narrative and use that to make something good.”
Holly’s twin brother, Jack, became a member of the United Kingdom’s Royal Marines, which is part of the U.K.’s Navy.
Ramsay shared a series of photos of Jack in his uniform on social media, celebrating the accomplishment with the caption: “Can’t tell you enough how proud I am of this young man. Jack Ramsay, you’ve made me feel like the proudest father today.”
Meanwhile, Matilda ‘Tilly’, like her well-known dad, is frequently in the spotlight.
From 2015 to 2019, she starred in a cooking reality show on CBBC called Matilda and the Ramsay Bunch. She also participated in the British competition show Strictly Come Dancing, where she and her dance partner were the ninth couple to be eliminated.
In 2019, Ramsay and Tana welcomed their son Oscar – the father and son are often seen in matching outfits in photos.
And just last year, the couple surprised their fans by announcing the arrival of another baby, Jesse James.
On November 8, Ramsay posted on Instagram: “What an amazing birthday present please welcome Jesse James Ramsay, 7lbs 10oz whopper.
“One more bundle of love to the Ramsay brigade!! 3 boys, 3 girls… Done.”
Ramsay and Tana are thrilled with the beautiful family they’ve built, but they always remember their son Rocky.
In 2016, the chef’s wife sadly suffered a miscarriage at 20 weeks.
“Born with a strong heartbeat but too little to survive,” Tana said about their son.
In a 2023 interview with People magazine, Ramsay opened up about the heartbreaking loss and the ‘life-changing moment.’
“There’s no book that guides you through that loss, and so losing Rocky was really tough,” the Hotel Hell star explained.
He shared that the experience ultimately made his family stronger and ‘brought us a bond that you’d never experience in a normal situation.’
Ramsay’s home in Cornwall is named after Rocky, and each family member wears a piece of jewelry with his name on it.
In a conversation with Weekend magazine, the chef mentioned that he and his family were deeply moved by the support they received.
He noted (via MailOnline): “You don’t realize until it happens to you how many people are affected. Sadly it happens every day.”
