Grammy-winning French Music Duo Daft Punk announced that they are splitting on Monday. They had been together for 28 years. The electronic performers shared the news Monday in a dramatic 8-minute-long video called the Epilogue.
The Split in the group
The publicist of the group confirmed their break up. Epilogue begins with the duo, who have concealed their identities behind big helmets, walking around a desert with similar headgears and leather jackets with Daft Punk printed on them.
The video that was shared to announce the break
The duo consists of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. Few minutes into the video, their pace of walking starts to differ. Moments later, one of them has walked ahead leaving the other one behind. He looks back only to find the other one still looking at him. The latter bows down his head showing resignation. Their eyes meet for a while and then one of them removes their jacket, showing an energy pack on his back. The other member opens the pack and switches on a button. The one without the jacket starts moving away and within seconds explode.
