Jeopardy show host George Trebek has been hosting this show for a total of 37 long seasons from 1984 till 2020 he constantly entertained his audience in the game show. Alex Trebek made the game show extremely lively and fun for more than 8,200 episodes and even has a Guinness Record for hosting a single game show for such a long time. The game was still going until George Trebek was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that unfortunately took his life on November 8th, 2020. He battled with the disease for about 18 months and then passed away. Alex had made a special space on screen with his audience that watched the show and therefore the show has thanked him for believing in the show and having a beautiful journey with them.

The game show has honored the legendary host by keeping special throwback episodes for his fans that will be the 10 best episodes that will be aired. The producers of the show also revealed that his last exceptional episodes will soon be aired and also in one of his final episodes Alex said an emotional message about building a kinder and gentler society as we need to with those who are suffering from Covid-19 in the season of giving. Fans are now awaiting the broadcast of his last episode which is aired on the 4th of January 2021.
Jeopardy welcomes a new host Katie Couric
The sad demise of Alex Trebek left millions of fans upset but the show must go on as said by Alec himself in a previous statement said that if ever he doesn’t host jeopardy the show should not end. Hence, everyone was wondering who will replace the iconic host Alex Trebek after he passed away and whether the host will be a temporary or a permanent one. The game show has announced that it will be having new guest hosts for the show and will be temporary. After the telecasting of Alex Trebek’s last episodes, Ken Jennings will take his place as the first guest host and is the best choice as he is known for having a streak of 74 back to back wins on this show itself. His episodes will be aired from the 11th of January. Now the show will also welcome 64-year-old Katie Couric as the second guest host according to media reports. Katie is an online journalist and it is not confirmed whether she will be hosting for a week or not but reports say she will temporarily host the game show.
