Academy Award winner actor Phillip Anthony Hopkins recently shared a video on micro blogging site twitter where he celebrated 45 years of sobriety and also gave motivated message to his fans. In the video posted on Tuesday, the actor asked people to the year ahead after the tough year of 2019, full of grief and sadness for so many families around the world. He remembered the time, 45 years ago, and told that he was directed to a disastrous life due to his drinking habit. He claimed that he was “drinking himself to death.” The actor further said that one day a little thought came in his mind questioning whether he wants to live or die. From that day, the actor claimed that he quitted drinking and his life has been amazing since then.

However, the actor does acknowledge that it was not so easy and he saw many ups and downs, fears, anxiety at times. He asked people to stay optimistic all the time and to never give up in any situation. He brought himself as an example that his will power helped him to go through such tough times. He said the most important thing is to just hang in there irrespective of the challenges, one should keep fighting. Hopkins is quite active on social media and in March 2020, he posted a video of himself playing piano on twitter along with his cat.

Anthony Hopkins, best known for his role as “Hannibal Lecter’ in the movie “The silence of the Lambs” was born on 31 December 1937. In his successful career, he bagged multiple honours including an Oscar, three British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards. For his Role as ‘Pope Benedict” in the Netflix movie “The Two Popes”, Hopkins earned a nomination in Oscars for Best Supporting Actor in 2020.
