Instead of spaying their pet cats, many heartless owners find it way easier to abandon their cats after discovering they’re pregnant.
Sadly, this was the unfortunate fate of a brown tabby, who was left at a Walmart parking lot when her owners realized she was pregnant.
With babies on the way, the poor cat was in desperate need of help. After years of living with a family, she was suddenly left to fend for herself and her unborn kittens.
However, fortune smiled on her when a few mechanics from the auto department noticed her wandering the parking lot.
When the mechanics called the cat, she instantly came over, seeking a helping hand, which they didn’t hesitate to offer. Jillian from Foster Baby Cats in Ohio, who later took the cat in, said in an interview:
“They bought her a couple cans of soft food and a little bowl for water. They kept her safe as much as they could.”
The mechanics truly helped the cat, providing her with a safe place inside their garage. But, as much as they wanted to keep her, they couldn’t for the following reason.
The area was preparing for a severe storm, and they couldn’t leave her inside the garage overnight or outside in the storm. So, they had to come up with another solution.
Fortunately, someone contacted Jillian from Foster Baby Cats, who instantly sprang into action. She was surprised by how well the mechanics cared for the cat, saying:
“When I came to help her, they gave me all the supplies they had gathered for her. It was the sweetest, most genuine thing.”
Jillian and her neighbor, Jaime, brought the cat to safety right before the storm began.
They affectionately named the cat Bonnet and went to examine her, but something shocked them – the cat herself was just a kitten, estimated to be only 7–8 months old. Despite the shock, the rescuers focused on giving her the help she needed.
Bonnet loved her new environment, making herself comfortable and devouring food like there was no tomorrow. After a hearty meal, Bonnet snuggled up next to Jillian and purred her way into dreamland. Jillian added:
“She is the sweetest, most trusting little girl.”
Despite being abandoned, Bonnet amazed everyone by still trusting humans. She was so comfortable in her new environment that she prepared the biggest surprise for Jillian two days later.
When Jillian entered the foster room, she saw three furry babies next to Bonnet, two orange and one tabby. She had blankets, beds, boxes, and everything, but she decided to nest them in a corner on the floor.
Jillian wanted to make them even more comfortable, so she slowly transitioned this furry family into a new nest, which Bonnet loved. The grateful cat couldn’t stop expressing her appreciation to Jillian, constantly rubbing against her.
The feline family was well cared for, especially the kittens, who progressed rapidly. The adorable trio – Axel, Spark, and Sprocket – developed huge appetites and big attitudes.
And, Bonnet is just a perfect mother, never leaving the kittens’ side. Jillian added:
“She is doing a fantastic job as a mother.”
Despite being a purrfect mother, this will be Bonnet’s first and last litter. From now on, she’ll be a spayed feline with a brighter future, hopefully in a new forever home.
