It’s a common belief that our feline friends can fit through any opening as long as it’s as big as their heads.
However, if a cat is even slightly overweight, they can easily get stuck in awkward places.
That’s exactly what happened to this poor tabby cat, who found herself with her head stuck in a front door iron gate.
The first question that popped into my mind was, “How on Earth was she able to get her head stuck that high?”
I don’t want to point any fingers, but to me, it looks like it might have been done on purpose, perhaps as a cruel prank by some kids.
At first, some locals tried to free the poor cat, but because she was extremely agitated and likely scared for her life, they ended up calling their local rescue group for help.
When the rescuers arrived, they donned protective gloves and used towels to avoid scratches from the distressed cat who clearly needed help but was reluctant to accept it.
Their goal was to get her head out of the iron hole without resorting to cutting it, as that could potentially harm the cat, which they wanted to avoid at all costs.
They handled her with extreme care, gently shifting her body up and down, attempting to wiggle her head out of the gate. However, the task proved too challenging.
At one point, the cat became so still that everyone feared the worst. Reacting quickly, the rescuers opened her mouth and pulled out her tongue to clear the airway and ensure she could breathe.
This intervention was effective; she soon began blinking, signaling she had regained consciousness and wasn’t ready to give up. She demonstrated to everyone just how resilient she truly was!
The rescuers continued to maneuver her body up and down to free her head from the iron gate. Some pushed on her head while others pulled her body, but they were all extremely gentle.
Their goal was to safely extricate the kitty without causing any injuries.
After much effort and significant struggle, something extraordinary happened: The cat was free! Everyone was overjoyed – and rightfully so.
Exhausted and famished, the cat was first given something to eat by the rescuers before being taken to the vet for a thorough checkup.
Fortunately, the vet determined that she was healthy, with no visible injuries or scars – a relief to everyone involved.
After her vet appointment, the rescuers decided to release her back into the neighborhood. After all, she was a local stray who was loved and cherished by her community.
