Our number one priority as cat parents is ensuring our feline companions stay safe and healthy.
Although we can’t protect them from all the dangers lurking around, making sure our home is safe for them is something all of us have to do.
When I brought my cat Beans home, I had to get rid of most of my plants as they were highly dangerous for him.
However, sometimes a thing or two will slip from us and our feline companions end up in danger. This is exactly what happened to one TikTok user so get ready to hear all about it.
Pink Himalayan salt lamps have become all the rage in the past few years. People buy them for their healing properties and the nice ambiance coming from the pink light.
A TikTok user under the name beaglebitez also followed this trend and placed some night lights with pink Himalayan salt around his house.
However, after some time the entire family noticed that their night lights had weird dents on the side. It almost looked like someone was picking on them!
Beaglebitez recently posted a video explaining where the dents were coming from. It seemed like his cat Pocky enjoyed the night lights more than anyone else in the house.
In the video, Pocky was licking the Himalayan salt lamp almost as if it were a treat! At first, his owner thought it was hilarious but his followers soon warned him about the dangers!
Taking in too much salt can cause serious kidney issues in cats, so his followers advised him to immediately bring Pocky to the vet, as one comment put it:
“I would get him to the vet, pink Himalayan sea salt causes sodium poisoning in cats.”
Pocky’s owner had no idea that a simple thing like a night light could be fatal for his feline friend. His dad immediately moved the night lights, as he said in the post:
“Ahhh we had no idea. We moved the lamp!!”
Luckily, Pocky’s unusual habit didn’t cause him any serious health issues. The sweet tabby boy was just thirsty from all the salt!
Although Pocky was adorable in his mischievous adventure, this could’ve ended up fatally for him. Luckily only one post on the internet saved his life!
