One ordinary day, a young man named Matt was driving in his truck when he noticed something unusual.
In the middle of the busy road, there was a tiny calico kitten, all alone, crawling and seemingly looking for her mother.
Realizing that the kitten might have been abandoned either by her family or an owner, Matt quickly stopped his truck and rushed to the kitten’s aid.
He gently scooped her up and brought her back to his truck, where she immediately felt at home. She climbed up on his shoulder, ready for a new adventure.
The next day, Matt took the kitten to the nearest veterinary clinic to remove all the fleas covering her tiny body.
Once she was cleaned up and flea-free, they returned to the truck, where the kitten immediately fell asleep.
It was a truly adorable sight. Nestled in the center console of his truck, the kitten purred contentedly, seemingly exhausted from her vet visit.
The kitten slept the entire drive, not even waking up when they parked in front of Matt’s house.
Not wanting to disrupt her sleep, Matt decided to stay put and turned down the radio. He later shared this story with his Reddit community, saying:
“I didn’t have the heart to wake her up when I got home so I just sat there quietly with the radio off for about an hour until she woke up.”
What a gentleman, right? Eventually, the kitten woke up and Matt took her inside.
Now, if you think this is another story where the rescuer ends up adopting the cat – you’re wrong.
Unfortunately, since Matt was allergic to cats, he was forced to find the kitten a new forever home.
He shared his experience of finding the perfect match for his new feline friend on Reddit, where he said:
“I actually interviewed two people who wanted her and told the first person no because the living situation didn’t sound like it would be good for her.”
Matt put a great deal of effort into finding the kitten a new home, eventually settling with a woman who already had an older rescue cat in need of company.
And just like that, the kitten found a new place to live, likely feeling immensely grateful to her rescuer Matt who made all her dreams come true.
I hope she sleeps as soundly in her new home as she did in Matt’s truck.
