Cat Mom to Celebrate Nine Years of Being a Third Wheel to Her Rescued Cat Obsessed with Beards

Sometimes, cats have a favorite person in the home, and it might not be you! They might even steal your man but in the most comical way, leaving you the third wheel in the relationship. For one couple from Pennsylvania, a feline love triangle has been ongoing for almost nine years. Yet they wouldn’t have it any other way, with hilarious antics involving beards!

The Beards Saga Continues

We first share the story about Roswell, a “polydactyl alien baby” found under a shed in 2022. The green-eyed kitten owed his life to Lindsey, who bottle-fed the 2-week baby and then asked her then-boyfriend Drew if they could adopt him. At the time, he had never had a cat before. Little did she know that Roswell would become absolutely obsessed with his Cat Dad. And the feeling was mutual!

“Roswell is very territorial, and he has claimed my husband as his own,” Lindsey recently explained. “He wants to be his number one….At this point they are basically soulmates,” she continued.

The obsession left Lindsey feeling a bit like a third wheel until she cleverly figured out a “cheat code.” It seems that what Roswell really loves is Drew’s beard or facial hair in general. Once Lindsey tried wearing fake Halloween beards, the kitty was instantly smitten with her. However, he’s still obsessed with Drew!

The beards also served a double purpose since Lindsey is allergic to cats and can break out in hives. With the furry facial protection, the kitty can rub away without touching her skin.

“It worked instantly!” she said of wearing the fake beard. “He started rubbing all over my face, but with my allergy, it’s protecting me!”

Even with the magic beard, she jokes that she’s the “certified side chick.”

As she says, wearing the beards became part of the lesson in “How to Cat Daddy 101.” In this home, there’s “One beard to rule them all 🧔🏻‍♀️🧔🏻‍♂️.”

At one point, the couple even got Roswell his own mini-beard. And he seemed to enjoy it!

“The best beard saga in human/feline history 🧔‍♀️,” commented one person.

Nine Years of Roswell’s and the Fetish for Beards

In August, Roswell turns nine years old, which means it’s been that long since Lindsey has been the third wheel! On  Instagram and TikTokthere are hundreds of thousands of “Roswellian” fans, including us! We hope the beard saga never ends!

“How it’s going ➡️ how it started.”

This cute kitty has changed the relationship in many ways. For example, musician Drew tends to leave the bar early to come home and play with Roswell.

“We have our priorities straight.”

In August, Roswell will be nine years old, but he’s still the baby in the family, with eyes for Dad! (Unless Lindsey breaks out the beards, of course.)

Happy Birthday to Roswell and we wish you and your family many magical meowmories (and beards) in your future!
