Bayonetta 3: Release Date, Gameplay And Leaks and Rumors

Bayonetta 3 has managed to remain under the radar since it was first introduced at the 2017 Game Awards with a teaser trailer, according to IGN. With the exception of Platinum Games announcing earlier this year that Bayonetta 3 is still in development, there has been no other news about the game… until now.

In the final moments of Nintendo’s September Direct, we were treated to our first glimpse of Bayonetta 3’s visually striking gameplay. Listed below is all we know about Bayonetta 3, including the game’s release date and gameplay, as well as rumors and leaks about the game.

Bayonetta 3: Release Date

Bayonetta 3 is scheduled to be released later this year. Since the announcement of Bayonetta 3, PlatinumGames has been hard at work on a variety of other projects, so it’s not surprising that the game has taken this long to make a comeback.

PlatinumGames is collaborating with Square Enix on Babylon’s Fall, and the company will also self-publish Project G.G., a mysterious new game developed by Hideki Kamiya and set in the future. Furthermore, Astral Chain was published in 2019, and it is likely that it took a significant amount of time to produce. When Bayonetta 3 is published, it will be available only on the Nintendo Switch system.

In an interview with VGC, Kamiya made light of the game’s release date, jokingly adding, “My recommendation would be that we all take a step back and forget about Bayonetta 3 for a while. Don’t you think that when anything eventually happens, it will come as a pleasant surprise to you and everyone else?”

Is Bayonetta 3 Still Coming Out?

Atsushi Inaba, the studio head of PlatinumGames, tells fans that “there is no need to be concerned.” Creator Hideki Kamiya also stated that “it is not our decision what to say and when to express it” regarding the series. It appears that any subsequent revelations about the game are completely out of his control.

Marius Hermanavicius, who served as Bayonetta 3’s chief game designer for a brief period of time, had really left the project in April 2020, according to the game’s official website. He is presently employed as a game designer at Tango Gameworks, where he may be involved with Ghostwire: Tokyo or another project that the studio is working on.

We haven’t seen or heard anything about Bayonetta 3 since September, but with the game due to release this year, we’re hoping to see something about it in a future Nintendo Direct.

Bayonetta 3: Gameplay

The first complete gameplay trailer for Bayonetta 3 has been released. The legendary Bayonetta is back to using a handful of difficult moves, pulling off outrageous combinations, and racking up high scores as she does every time. The animations in the game appear to be as stylish as they have always been, and it appears that the battle still centers around the player’s quick reflexes.

In this teaser, we see a figure that is currently thought to be Cereza from the first Bayonetta game, but who is much older in this version of the game. Then she storms into the scene, exclaiming, “It appears that I’m unfashionably late,” which is humorous given that the game was announced four years ago today.

Bayonetta summons a massive creature, controls it to battle an immense adversary, and even rides it across skyscrapers in pursuit of a monster, according to another scene from the video.

Also to be expected are a number of new adversaries and bosses that Bayonetta will have to face off against, all of which will presumably be stacked within memorable environments that best utilize the series’ themes and characters. We can’t wait to get back to the business of striking a stunning posture while unleashing a volley of bullets on angels and devils.

Bayonetta 3: Leaks and Rumors

Bayonetta 3 release date set for 2022 in first gameplay trailer - Opera News

While we have seen some gameplay, we still don’t know much about what Bayonetta 3 will be about. However, there have been leaks that indicate a few things to look forward to. Intriguingly, there has been speculation that many of Bayonetta 3’s setpieces will take place in outer space, with these environments being presented on a much grander scale than any previous Bayonetta game.

This same leak also says that Bayonetta 3 plans to portray significantly more “melancholic” themes and will handle its protagonist in a different manner than previous games, with her costumes being less absurd than previously and the quantity of sexual content is decreased to a certain extent. Furthermore, it is possible that Bayonetta 3 will use the same engine as NieR: Automata, and it is predicted that the game would look significantly better than Bayonetta 2.

When this information is compared to the gameplay trailer, it appears that the leak was wrong. However, it seems to have a similar amount of absurdity, despite the fact that the majority of the trailer takes place within a single set-piece. Platinum Games most likely only showed off one level from Bayonetta 3, leaving us with no idea what else could be in the game at the time of its announcement.
