A man contacted the rescue after some puppies were born on his property. But the trouble was, he didn’t know where they were.
A man contacted K9 Advocates of Manitoba after a dog gave birth to puppies on his property. But he had no idea where the puppies were, and mom wasn’t helping.
When the rescue arrived, they began to look for the dogs. Surprisingly, mom came out of hiding with one puppy. But the rescue wasn’t sure if there were more puppies and mom wasn’t giving them any clues.
Then what happened next surprised them. The puppy with its mom took off and ran toward a shed. The rescuers followed the little puppy and were surprised to see they had been led to puppies hiding under the building.
The puppies were feral. They had never seen people before, and they were afraid. With no reason to trust the rescuers, they were hiding deep under the shed but there was no way the rescuers were going to leave them behind.
So, they tried to catch them, but they were too small. Next, they tried to lure them out with food but that was harder than it sounds. But finally, with lots of time and patience, all 4 of the puppies were out from under the shed and mom and pups were safe in the truck.
They then drove back to Winnipeg where they’d meet the fosters that arrived to pick up the dogs. The last one to leave was a little cream puppy that was also the last pup to be rescued out from under the shed.
One of the rescuers who saved them was already attached to the little puppy but knew he had to let her go to her foster home. But that didn’t stop him from keeping in touch. When the puppy finally went to her forever home, he even got to watch her grow up.
Dog rescue can be heartbreaking but also so rewarding. This is one of those times when all the dogs got happy endings in their forever homes. All thanks to a person concerned enough to call for help.
The sweet white pup went from living under a shed with no human contact to a great home with lots of love. There is nothing better than that. We hope you enjoyed their story. As always please feel free to share with your friends.
