Rumors have been brewing suggesting that Amber Heard has been fired from the Aquaman Franchise. We do not know about the future but so far, Heard will be sticking with the franchise and will be seen in Aquaman 2.

Heard’s role in the movie

Heard plays the role of a Xebellian princess Mera in the DC universe. She made her first appearance in 2017’s Justice League. She had a prominent role in 2018’s Aquaman and will reprise this same role for another Justice League movie. Additionally, reports claim that she will return as Mera in Aquaman 2. Plot details are kept secret but the movie is set to release in 2022.

The rumor

On Sunday, various unverified reports stating that Heard was fired from Aquaman took the internet by the storm. This is not the first time this rumor brews up. After her brutal and public battle with her ex-husband Johnny Depp, her life has been subject to intense scrutiny. Both Depp and Heard have blamed each other for domestic abuse. Depp’s professional life also took a hit when he was removed from the Fantastic Beasts franchise. Depp’s departure also caused the majority of the fans to wonder why Heard was not removed.

The prospects of the situation

As the initial rumors regarding Heard’s removal from the Aquaman movie did not come from a reputed source, it is not surprising that the rumors are fake. This news will be met with mixed reactions. There will be people who will be relieved but there will also be people who will be enraged as various sources have claimed that Heard was the perpetrator in their relationship. One million signatures had been gathered by fans of Depp to remove Heard from the franchise. This is a delicate situation that will have more complications once the court proceedings begin. We can only wait to see how this pans out.
