Registration for Vaccination

Amid the possibility of the second wave of coronavirus in some states of India, the registration for vaccination started today for the general public. People can register through Cowin Portal and Aarogya Setu App to get themselves vaccinated. Those who are over 60 years of age and those above 45 years with co-morbidities are eligible for this second phase of vaccination. The first phase of vaccination targeted frontline workers of health and other sectors. Eligible citizens need to register themselves on the Cowin Portal or Aarogya Setu App to get the vaccine at a nearby registered center. The registration was expected to begin from 9 am today itself, however, due to some technical problems on the Cowin Portal and Arogya Setu App, there was some delay in registration for some time.

Registration for Vaccination

The process of registering for vaccination on Cowin Portal is easy and hassle-free

The process for registration on the Cowin App is very simple. First you need to open the cowin website link www.cowin.gov.in’’ . After this, you need to enter a valid mobile number in which an OTP will be sent. Once OTP is sent, click on the “Verify” button. Once the mobile number is verified, the page for registration of Vaccination will appear on the window. In the registration page, on entering all the relevant details and adding a Photo ID proof i.e. Aadhar Card, PAN Card or any other Government ID, the portal provides the users the choice to register additional three members. In the next step, users can select any nearby vaccination center and can schedule the vaccination date as per the availability. For the convenience of users, the portal also allows them to re-schedule the appointment. Upon successful registration, a confirmation SMS will be sent to the users.

Eligible citizens can also register themselves for vaccination via Aarogya Setu App

The process of registration in the Aarogya Setu App is also similar. You just need to open the app and click on the Cowin Tab on the home screen. On opening the same, click on “Vaccination Registration’, then validate your phone number by entering OTP. Upon successful validation of the phone number, the registration page for vaccination will appear. You are required to follow the same steps as mentioned above on CoWin Portal. As of now, only citizens above 60 years and 45 above with co-morbidities are eligible to register themselves for this vaccination drive.
