Mariah Carey’s self-described “Damaged” sister has filed a lawsuit against the pop star, claiming she was publicly humiliated when Carey revealed alleged family secrets in a book last year.
The book that created controversies
Last year, the singer published the book “The Meaning of Mariah Carey”, accusing the older sister Alison Carey drugged her when she was a child, and her brother was physically abusive, and her mother’s boyfriend threatened to kill her.
In the chapter titled “Dandelion Tea”, Mariah also said that when she was 12 years old, the 20-year-old Alison drugged her with valium and let Carey on a dangerous car ride with one of her elder sibling’s boyfriend. Mariah also mentions that Alison burned her by throwing boiling tea on her.
The lawyer and the case
Alison who does not have a proper lawyer yet is representing herself. She claims that her sister never gave her the time to respond to all the allegations, nor was there substantial evidence. The troubled sibling also says that Mariah knew she was damaged. The 59-year-old sister had also been busted previously for prostitution- claims that she suffers from PTSD. She also claims that she has health issues including the spine, and digestive disorders, and a traumatic brain injury.
Despite knowing the problems that Alison faces, Mariah used her status to attack her sister. Allison now demands 1.25 million dollars for claims of intentional infliction of immense emotional distress caused by the defendant.
