Mukesh Ambani-owned telecom company announced the offer yesterday. As per the offer, Jio would offer unlimited calls and unlimited data access with the purchase of its “Jio Phone”. It may be noted here that unlike other feature phones, the Jio phone comes with 4G accessibility and also hosts apps like WhatsApp and Facebook. The company has come up with two plans with this Jio Phone 2021. The first plan-which has been priced at Rs.1,999- will offer unlimited calling for 2 years, unlimited 4G data access capped at 2GB/day along with this “4G feature Phone”. The other plan has been launched at a price of Rs.1,499. As per the company’s statement, this plan will have a validity of 1 year and consumers will be getting unlimited calls and 2GB 4G data per day during this validity period. The company has also claimed that similar plans from its rival telecom companies will cost around Rs.5,000.
Existing Jio Phone consumers will be benefitting with a fixed Rs.749 plan
In a welcoming step, Jio has also taken care of its existing Jio Phone customers. The company has come up with Rs.749 plans for current consumers. This plan will offer consumers unlimited calling and 2GB of data per day for a period of 12 months. The company has stated that more than 100 million users have upgraded to Jio Phone and with this 2021 offer it aims to achieve a 300 million user base in coming years. The new plan is set to be rolled from March 1, 2021. Let’s see if other Telco companies come up with similar plans to attract consumers.
