Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expecting their second child. A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed that Archie was going to be a big brother. The couple’s son Archie, turns 2 this year.
The news of the pregnancy
While sharing the news with the world, Harry and Meghan shared an intimate black and white photo that shows Meghan cradling her baby bump. The news comes months after Meghan talked of her unbearable grief of having a miscarriage.
The new baby will be the first baby of British Royal descent to be born in the US after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit their positions as senior royals. They set up their home in a 14-million-dollar home in Montecito, California with neighbors like Oprah and Ellen DeGeneres.
Meghan’s story after the miscarriage
Rumors of the pregnancy began boiling last year when her legal team asked for her privacy against Britain’s Mail for nine months for confidential reasons. The former actress then appeared to show off a baby bump in photos as she stepped up bundled up. She was also praised for her brutally honest essay about pregnancy loss in the New York Times last year. She was very open about talking about how she lost the second child and, in the process, clutched on to Archie more. She also said that it was heartbreaking to watch Harry try to hold the family together, while she broke down.
Their lives as independent royals
Harry had said previously that he only wanted two children. He has also said that he was concerned about the terrifying effects of global warming. As they pledged to be financially independent, they have signed multimillion-dollar deals with Netflix and Spotify, following the steps of Obama. Their holiday podcast is all set to air soon. Meghan has also invested in a coffee brand Clevr, which was promoted by Winfrey to her 19 million Instagram family.
