Leaker Evan Blass recently shared the first rendering of the LG Budget phone series LG W41. The series, which consists of standard W41, W41 Plus, and W41 Pro, will be launched after last year’s release of the LG W31 series. This series is being launched targeting a particular niche, India.
Specifications of the new series
While not much is known about the phone, there are speculations that the standard version bears the model number LMK610. The phones are likely to leave the notched design of their predecessors in favor of a pinhole screen. Blass also claims that the new phone will have a rear quad-camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor. The W31 series had a triple camera setup. Other specs are unknown at this moment.
Further information about the phone
Reports claim that more information will be leaked in the coming months. The W41 series will be the latest LG series. The smartphone wing of the company had been dying down, it seems efforts are being made to salvage the company and yield desired results.
Changes in the company to salvage the smartphone business
In 2018, the company made some organizational changes, and a year later it shook the top ranks in hopes of turning the business around. Last year, it tried to breathe life into the smartphone device by introducing Velvet and Wing with two screens. In December last year, it was reported that the company will be outsourcing the design and production of low and mid-budget phones and concentrate on making premium smartphones. In early January, the South Korean manufacturer played down a deleted report which clearly claimed that it planned to shut down the smartphone business, before admitting a few days later that it was being considered with all possible measures, including the sale, withdrawal, and downsizing of the smartphone business.
