Google RCS Announced

The RCS, which has a richer feature, will now replace SMS globally, according to a recent article. The announcement by Google indicates that this feature is now available through the Google Messages application worldwide. Google RCS messaging aims to offer vibrant communications close to Apple’s iMessage to all Android users without using apps such as WhatsApp or Messenger.
Google has already been collaborating with equipment manufacturers in the telecommunications industry for the past few years. Also, it collaborates in some countries and regions with certain network infrastructure to provide

chat functionality based on the Messages standard of the open Rich Communication Service (RCS). According to Google, the RCS chat feature has been widely marketed globally. It wants to be famous on this new messaging platform and for everyone in the Android ecosystem. Now any user who uses messages around the world can

get modern chat functions from their carrier or directly from Google.

What is RCS? Is It Helpful?

  • The standard SMS messages are updated by this chat feature.
  • You can send and receive images and videos of better quality now, chat via Wi-Fi, or info.
  • You will also tell when your message is read by the receiver and the answer is exchanged.
  • Simply put, a more interactive and attractive group chat is given by RCS.
  • RCS would be safer than SMS. To ensure that neither users, including Google and third parties, can read the content of your post, it uses end-to-end encryption.
  • While this function is being globally launched, it is not the final version. Google wants this messaging tool for
user reviews to be tested worldwide. This feature’s testing will continue until next year.
  • It will take some time for the RCS to replace the conventional SMS entirely. Currently, as long as SMS still exists, it will be very hard for RCS to replace SMS completely. However, for this messaging app to gain more
attention, Google seems to be willing to push forward.
