Samsung Galaxy Note 9

Samsung has finally rolled out the One UI 2.5 update to its Galaxy Note 9 after it was available to the Galaxy A series last week. Based on Android 10, the update comes with a firmware version N960FXXU6FTJ3, and brings several new features to the phone. The Galaxy Note 9 was launched in 2018 as Samsung’s flagship phone of the year. The latest update will come along with some bug fixes and overall system stability improvements to the phone.

What does the update bring to the table?

Samsung released the One UI 2.5 update in October as an Android security patch to fix bugs and make minor improvements. The update will pretty much bring all the new features to the Galaxy Note 9. Users will be able to use Samsung DeX on Smart TVs wireless. The update has also made some significant camera tweaks, and a significant one is the Single Take Feature. Users are eligible to select the video recording resolution and set the frame rate between 24fps, 30fps, and 60fps in Pro video mode. Further, the Samsung Keyboard app has its own Youtube search feature now. Additionally, the Messages app now allows users to send SOS messages along with their location every 30 minutes. The message is valid for 24 hours.

Where is the update available?

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 OTA update is rolling out in a phase-wise manner. Currently, the update is only available to users in Germany. It may take a while for the rest of the world to receive the new update. However, once your region receives the update, you will automatically get a push notification asking you to download it. An alternative method is to check for the update manually in the settings section of the device.

Unfortunately, One UI 2.5 is the last that the Galaxy Note 9 will receive. The device won’t be able to withstand the UI 3.0 update as it is not designed to do so. However, Samsung has announced that it will continue to get security updates for the next two years. After that, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will be considered as an outdated model.
